Rewires

A full rewire involves replacing all of the cables in your house and upgrading all accessories; for example, the sockets, switches and fuse board are key items which will be replaced and designed specifically for your needs. It is most common to need a full rewire when you buy an old house which needs to be completely renovated. You may also need to have a rewire if an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) highlights unsafe wiring. A rewire is an extreme measure and we do not recommend these lightly.

Full electrical rewires are best carried out when properties are unoccupied. An electrical rewire will almost certainly need us to lift floorboards, climb in and out of the loft space, and chase channels in some of the walls to hide cables. This can cause a lot of disruption and stress if the property is being lived in so an occupied rewire must be carried out with impeccable planning and communication, to ensure everything runs smoothly. During an occupied rewire we will prioritise your experience and ensure that you have both lighting and power at the end of everyday for an evening of relaxing. At Innova Electrical we pride ourselves on our unrivalled customer service, so we believe communication and cleanliness throughout the job is key to your happiness and our success.

Sometimes a full rewire may not be necessary and you may only need a partial rewire. An example of a partial rewire would be if you currently have just one pendant light in each room but would like to upgrade your lighting to spotlights. As this would involve quite a lot of working above the ceilings and in the loft space we typically install new switch wires and feeds as a matter of course meaning that the full lighting circuit has had a revamp, known as a partial rewire, or simply, a lighting rewire.

Benefits of having a rewire:

  • Safer new wiring

  • Reduce risk of electrical fires

  • Increase property value

  • Reduction in energy bills

  • Less risk of power cuts

  • Personalise your home to suit your needs
